Spot On's position on the use of e-collars (electronic shock collars):
Our dogs are beloved family members. We wouldn't use the fear of pain from electrical shock as a shortcut to force our human kids to do what we wanted, so we wouldn't do it to our fur kids either!

Many organizations dedicated to animal welfare and professional dog training oppose the use of e-collars (electronic shock collars) due to concerns about potential harm, including:
-
American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB)
-
American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA)
-
Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT)
-
Canadian Association of Professional Dog Trainers (CAPDT)
-
European Society of Veterinary Clinical Ethology (ESVCE)
-
Humane Society of the United States (HSUS)
-
Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO)
-
UK Kennel Club (UKC)
Under animal welfare laws, e-collars (electronic shock collars) are banned in several countries and specific regions around the world, including most of Europe, some parts of Australia and Canada, and two United States cities, along with proposed bans in three US states:
-
Europe: Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Wales
-
Colombia
-
Australia: Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia
-
Quebec, Canada
-
Boulder, CO
-
San Francisco, CA
-
US states with proposed bans: New York, New Jersey and California
